Word: Take Something with a Grain of Salt

Meaning: To accept something, but to realize that it might be untrue, incorrect or exaggerated

Examples:

  • You should take what that guy says with a grain of salt; he’s always making stuff up.
  • Take that book with a grain of salt. It was written by someone who is getting paid to say controversial things!
